Before 2022, the main method of recording for Panopto was using their application. But now Panopto has made an incredible new tool that can be accessed by your browser! No more installations needed.

To use Panopto Capture, head to the above link.

When you are there, you will be prompted to log-in using your Loyola credentials, if you are not already logged in to Moodle/InsideLoyola in that browser. Once logged in, you will be brought to the Panopto Capture interface.

When you are done recording, it is important to make sure the video goes to the correct course and is named appropriately. This way, all the appropriate parties will be able to see and access the video through Moodle.

To do this, make sure to select the correct course, which is under “My Folder.” In the example below, the course is “Jesse’s Sandbox.” It is also recommended to change the name of the video to something appropriate. In the example below, the video name is “Test Video.”

You don’t need to hit send or share or publish; once the green bar in the top left says “Your video is ready,” the video will be available to view in the appropriate course! It will show up by default in the Panopto block in Moodle.
