Within the modules themselves, most of the actual text and instructions is created using the "Text & Media Area" resource.
Text & Media Area are the most versatile resource Moodle offers and can be used to:
- Create Headings which help organize your course.
- Add descriptive text about assignments, resources, etc.
- Add links to outside resources (videos, articles, websites, etc.)
- Embed videos directly onto the course page.
- Display other elements we would like to include in your course.

đź’ˇ To add a Text & Media Area, turn on Edit Mode, which is a toggle located on the top right of your main course page.. Select which module you'd like the label to be in, and then select Text & Media Area.

Step 1: Creating a Text & Media Area
- Turn on Edit Mode, which is a toggle located on the top right of your main course page.
- Locate the module in which you want to add the label.
- Click on Add an activity or resource
This will bring up a list of all the items you can add to your course.
- Select the Resources tab at the top of this pop-out.
- Click Text & Media Area.
Step 2: Adding text into the Text & Media Area
In the box called “Text & Media Area text”, type in the text you desire.
