The columns on each side of a Moodle page contain Blocks. TheNavigation and Administration blocks are required, but others are optional. New Moodle courses start out with a set of default blocks. You can add additional blocks, remove blocks, or rearrange the blocks in the sidebars.
Turn on Edit Mode, which is a toggle located on the top right of your main course page.
If your Navigation tray is collapsed, select the Navigation tray toggle (hamburger menu , top left), and the Navigation tray will expand.
Scroll down to locate Add a block. Click Add a block and select a block to add from the new window. Note: There can only be one instance of most blocks in a course. Depending on which blocks are already used in your course, the list will change to show only available blocks.
Once you have selected the type of block to add, the page will re-load and your new block will be added at the bottom of the right column.
You can move a block to rearrange the order in which your blocks are arranged in the sidebars.Note: By default our themes have three columns, but if you want a wider area for course content, you can move all the blocks to one side (recommended only for courses that use very few blocks). We do not recommend rearranging the Navigation or Administration blocks as they are used across courses and people expect them to be in their standard locations.
Note: You can re-add a removed block; however, you may need to reconfigure any settings made. To preserve all settings you can hide the block instead (see below).
